After months of waiting, the new phpbb version 3 was released a few days ago from official site. For changes, visit the official phpbb website.

Currently, there are still not many mods available, so you may not want a switch yet. But with hundreds of mods under development, it will soon retire the previous version, which is known for security issues. Will it beat the simple machine forum? It is something we will figure out in future.
