Recently my firefox was hijacked by ICQ. And every search through the address bar returns to the ICQ search engine. Even removal of related add-ons won't work. After digging up the web for a solution, here is a simple way to reset the search facility.
- On the address bar, type 'about:config' without quotes.
- Locate keyword.url
- Right click on it and reset.
You may also wish to remove ICQ search through 'manage search engines'.
If you insist on using ICQ, get lite here.

May not be one of the most helpful firefox extensions, but it could make life easier when you have to copy and paste a batch of text links, due to [code] syntax.

Firefox can work as a mathematical calculator itself. There should be a google search box by default. You can enter formula in the field.

It also evaluates sin, cos, exponentiation, square…etc functions
But it seems that an equal sign is necessary after a formula to get it working.

Today I want to recommend a superb thingy for firefox users- Firefox Universal Uploader. If you often upload videos or images to sites like youtube, flickr or facebook, this addon can smoothen the whole uploading process. Currently, the plugin supports following sites:
- Box.net
- Flickr
- Picasa
- Youtube
- Facebook
- Webshots
- OmniDrive
- Smugmug
The functions are quite comprehensive. Key features include:
- Firefox Universal Uploader can show the local folders and remote folders which enables you to upload files by single click;
- Ability to upload any number of files at a time;
- Upload files to multiple Web sites using a single interface (using only one extension);
- Ability to add multiple accounts and upload files to each account independently.
- There are also site specific features, such as managing tags for flickr images.
- On top of the user-friendly interface, there is also a process bar which lets you track the uploading status.
For download, go to this address: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4724
Until next time.
